Design and Development

Sarah brings specialised expertise in the design and development of clinical services, with a distinct focus on suicide prevention. Utilising the Zero Suicide Framework, her services her services encompass the full spectrum of service redesign, leadership, and change management, ensuring that organisations can evolve to meet the specific needs of their communities.

Sarah provides comprehensive support in the initial scoping, planning, and orientation of services, guiding organisations through the complex process of developing and embedding effective Suicide Prevention Pathways.

Her approach includes:
  • Clinical service redesign and leadership
  • Change management specific to suicide prevention
  • Capacity building with local services, including a ‘train-the-trainer’ model
  • Facilitation of cultural considerations in suicide prevention
  • To ensure training is customised to meet the specific local needs of the service
  • Embedding data and fidelity systems to ensure pathway integrity
  • Coordinating and delivering projects to achieve planned outcomes within set time frames

Training and
Education

Utilising the Zero Suicide Framework, Sarah has developed a 2-day (4-module) training package for health care clinicians – a combination of theory and group work – that focuses on suicide prevention across the life span. Specialising in the needs of children and young people, the training has been developed in collaboration with cultural leads, lived experience and specialist roles in priority populations.

Topics covered include:
  • Suicide assessment
  • Safety planning
  • Lethal means counselling
  • Care planning
  • The importance collaboration with families and carers
  • The value of lived experience
  • Emotional safety and self care

To support the consolidation and embedding of the training, a suite of clinical supervision sessions can also be facilitated (see below). Training can also be tailored for a variety of specialist teams, including a ‘train-the-trainer’ model.

Clinical
Supervision

Sarah offers specialised clinical supervision designed to support the consolidation and embedding of skills acquired through the Training and Education. Supervision enables Sarah to support and provide advice and assistance in a supportive environment in which clinical staff can discuss suicide prevention delivery, refine their processes, identify gaps within service delivery and and implement new skills and tools effectively.

Clinical supervision:
  • Facilitates shared learning opportunities
  • Promotes a culture of shared risk, collaboration, and mutual support across teams
  • Provides tailored support to new clinical leads and trainers
  • Ensures alignment with existing governance structure and respects the autonomy of treating teams

Sarah’s supervision sessions aim to empower clinical teams to enhance their practice and deliver more effective, compassionate care.

Consultancy
Services

Sarah offers specialist consultancy services uniquely tailored towards embedding the towards Zero Suicide Framework (TZSF) within organisations and communities. Leveraging her extensive experience as a Senior Suicide Prevention Clinician, Sarah is equipped to deliver expert and advice and guidance on developing and embedding suicide prevention pathways and associated change management.

Her approach is grounded in collaboration, aiming to create meaningful, sustainable improvements in suicide prevention strategies.
